OxygenOS 12 Makes Google Camera Mods Practically Unusable

The OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus nine Pro received the Android 12 + OxygenOS 12 update recently. However, it has already brought along a number of bugs plus functionality-related issues. Nosotros're now learning of a new bug that affects device owners who use Google Camera mods or ports.

The Google Camera Port Updates aqueduct on Telegram gave out the information, stating that the OxygenOS 12 update essentially blocks admission to the auxiliary cameras while using Google Photographic camera mods. Auxiliary refers to camera sensors on the device autonomously from the main sensor (ultrawide, macro, and so on). This means that owners of the OnePlus 9 Pro can't use the onboard telephoto or broad-angle sensors if they're running a Google Camera port or any other tertiary-party photographic camera app.

Needless to say, this is quite frustrating for OnePlus 9 owners. Simply it's non surprising because the long list of bugs discovered so far. In fact, OnePlus had to halt the rollout of the new update following negative feedback.

And then what's causing this upshot?

OyxgenOS 12 shares its code with OPPO'southward ColorOS, which also has this detail brake on the auxiliary cameras. Just put, the OxygenOS 12 software is pretty identical to the latest iteration of ColorOS, barring a few adjustments specific to OnePlus devices.
